Fisherman's Cove is situated on a stretch of coast running between Godrevy and Portreath known as North Cliffs.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VISIT THIS BEACH:

Fisherman’s cove is a SSSI (Site of Significant Scientific Interest) and is used by a population of Cornwall’s grey seals.  As a result the beach should not be visited in order to minimise disturbance to the seals, especially during autumn/winter/spring – a vital time when seals are moulting with blood closer to the surface of their skin to facilitate new fur growth. This makes them extra susceptible to heat and energy loss at an already energy sapping, tiring time of year for them. This is also the pupping season and maternally dependent pups need 17,000 calories a day to stand any chance of surviving their first winter. They are extremely vulnerable to energy loss from missed feeds from mum as a result of her being too scared to feed her pup because she can smell, hear and see people on the clifftops.
