Pedn Vounder
50° 2' 29" N 5° 38' 28" WPedn Vounder is arguably one of Cornwall’s finest beaches situated between Porthcurno and Logan Rock.
Also known as Treen Beach and famed for being featured in the recent Poldark TV adaptation (where it was used in a dream sequence of the fictional “Nampara Cove”), most locals know it for being the areas most popular naturist-friendly retreat.
Make sure you have a good pair of shoes before attempting the steep scale down the cliffside path to the beach – the last part is quite steep. It is possible to walk eastwards from neighbouring Porthcurno during low tide in Spring, but always be wary of tidal times when visiting as its golden sands are quickly swallowed up by the Atlantic. The famous Logan’s Rock, an 80-tonne granite boulder that can be precariously wobbled back and forth by a single person, lies just to the east of the beach.
