The Flats is a long and narrow sandy beach stretching across the southern side of the island of St Martin's.
St Martin’s is the first island you see when visiting from mainland England. It has a character similar to Tresco, with the rugged cliffs and purple heather of the north shore contrasting the more sheltered southern shore with its array of sandy beaches. Here you can find The Flats; a long and narrow sandy beach stretching across the southern side of the island.
Yachts regularly moor up within the channel between St Martin’s and Teän. The beach is safe to swim from but extreme caution must be taken when near the deep channel between the two islands, as the current can be very strong.
The world-class Karma St Martin’s is positioned just off the beach at Lower Town quay. The hotel offers fantastic food, drinks and accommodation, with stunning views from the restaurant looking towards the island of Teän.
