History of Zennor Carn

Zennor Carn is a prehistoric burial mound located near the village of Zennor, in southwest Cornwall. The mound dates back to the Neolithic period, around 3,500-4,000 years ago, and is believed to have been used as a burial site for important members of the local community.

The mound is made up of several large stones and rocks, arranged in a circular shape. The central area of the mound is thought to have contained a burial chamber, which would have been covered by a mound of earth or stones.

In the early 20th century, an excavation of the site uncovered a number of prehistoric artifacts, including pottery, flint tools, and a bronze axe head. These items are now housed in the collections of the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro.
