Helford Passage
50° 5' 57" N 5° 7' 42" WHelford Passage is a small picturesque hamlet on the northern shore of the Helford River.
Located on the northern shore of the tranquil Helford River, swimming is generally pretty safe here, but be wary of the fact the beach isn’t lifeguarded and the river’s high levels of traffic might mean it isn’t as peaceful during peak season as other river spots.
Nevertheless, this is a great place to hire a boat for the day and explore the region. Or for those who’d rather take in the stunning surroundings on foot, the South West Coast Path passes nearby with a wonderful walk westwards up the estuary towards the village of Gweek. Other beautiful riverside villages and hamlets such as Durgan lie just a stone’s throw away, and it’s only a short walk inland to the subtropical gardens of Glendurgan.
