Portheras Cove, located on the north coast of Cornwall near Pendeen. This secluded beach, surrounded by rugged cliffs and rolling hills, offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the crowds. With its golden sands and clear waters, Portheras Cove is perfect for a quiet day by the sea, picnicking, or exploring the South West Coast Path.
Seals are a common sight at Portheras Cove and can be a spotted from the cliffs most days.
The beach can have a heavy shore-break on a high tide, popular for experienced body boarders. There is no lifeguard cover here and the beach is very remote so care should be taken when entering the water.

History of Portheras Cove

From the A30, take the exit towards Penzance on the A3071. Continue on the A3071 towards St Just. From St Just, follow signs for Pendeen. In Pendeen, take the road towards Morvah and look for signs for Portheras Cove. Parking is available at the nearby farm, and from there, follow the footpath to the beach.
