Pelistry Bay
49° 55' 35" N 6° 16' 39" WThe wild beach of Pelistry Bay is located on the remote eastern side of St Mary's.
At low tide, it’s possible to paddle out to Toll’s island, where you will find Pellow’s Redoubt – the remains of a Civil War gun battery. But caution is advised as it is not swimmable during high tide due to the strong currents passing through these remote stretches of waters. Carn Vean Café lies only a short five minute walk inland from the beach, where you can grab a fresh crab roll or a classic Cornish cream tea, to fuel up for those late afternoon coastal hikes.
