Holywell Bay
50° 23' 24 N 5° 9' 8" WHolywell Bay is one of the finest beaches on the north coast with a huge expanse of golden sand backed by grass-tufted dunes.
At low tide it is possible to explore the fascinating Holywell Cave with its calcium deposits, but be careful not to get cut off by the tide.
There is ample room amongst the dunes, some of which rise up as tall as 60 feet, for a beach picnic and also a perfect place to watch the sunset.
Holywell Bay is well known for its backdrop of Gull Rocks – the two peaks out to sea are a unique sight from the beach. Holywell is also a filming location for the popular television series Poldark.
