Porthcressa Beach
49° 54' 43" N 6° 18' 47" WPorthcressa is a golden sandy beach which is sheltered on both sides by protruding rocky outcrops.
Found down the end of a small country lane with wild flowers blooming all around its shoreline at springtime, it is considered by most to be the most pleasant of the island’s dreamy beaches.
A promenade above the beach houses the islands tourist information centre as well as a few cafés, public toilets and a small cluster of fishers’ cottages. This is a great spot for snorkelling and swimming, although since there is no lifeguard service here, caution is advised.
